Happy Saturday! Love is in the HAIR!

So does anyone who’s known me longer than 4 years remember my blonde hair phase (phases)? What about the fried short blonde hair that was crispy from trying to go platinum with excessive heat damage? What about when I chopped it all off- Halle Berry style? Whew...chile the process!!! The things I’ve put my hair through! ⁣⁣

Fast forward to the year 2020 where the world is uncertain and downright wild but somehow my hair is powering through it all (lol). This length has been FOUR years in the making of letting it grow and do it’s thing, while also loving on it and leaving it to glow in its natural darkest brown color. It took me awhile to get to the point of appreciating my hair and all that she is. ⁣⁣

Now that it’s longhair-strong, I’m on the hunt for new styles and accessories to continue having fun with it. One of my favorite things to do is visit the hair and accessory isle at any retail store or drugstore and see what random things I can find to create something new. Perfect example was this half bun tool which made the perfect topknot!

Check out my latest YouTube video to see the fun hair accessories I used today!

I’ve been asked many times before what photo editing apps I use, so I loved putting my techie cap on today to share them! My must-haves are:⁣

  1. Lightroom

  2. Darkroom

  3. Picsart

  4. Facetune

⁣Now, let’s talk about my morning. This morning’s devotional, meditation, and reading of the word brought me to Romans 12:6-8 where the subject matter is about owning what you’re meant to do and doing it wholeheartedly with purpose. ⁣

These verses opened my eyes wider to the concept of sharing our gifts with others; knowing what we’re meant to do and sharing that purpose to help others grow. ⁣

It’s that reason I take so much joy in sharing the golden nuggets of things I’ve learned along the way. Whether it be fun lifestyle segments in fashion, skincare, hair, and makeup, or through helpful techie tips, foodie recipes, and inspirational takeaways, my purpose is to share what I know and what is placed on my heart to help you grow.⁣

Happy Mother's Day to my beautiful mama and to all the powerful women in motherhood. To those spending today without their mom, I pray a healing comfort on you. May peace cover you and love surround you today.⁣⁣

Before the world started to shut down, I took mom to SEPHORA and got her a handful of new makeup products. She was so happy but she insisted that she “didn’t know how to do glam the way I do.” ⁣⁣⁣

For the record, I’m not a makeup artist but I’ve learned quite a few things along the way. I showed her ways to apply different things but nothing beats having a blast doing a fun makeover! So have some Mother’s Day fun with us and check out the video!

To My Mom: ⁣⁣⁣

You are a woman who will drop everything you’re doing to protect me. You support every new venture and milestone I’ve ever had or experienced. You love me unconditionally. You always know what to say when no one has the right words to comfort me. You make me laugh hysterically and brighten up any room you walk in. You have defied the odds when all you had in your corner was yourself. Because of you mom, I had the strength to make it through some of the most difficult times in my life. There will never be a thank you that ever really expresses how grateful I am for you but nonetheless, I thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do in my life. I love you very much! ⁣⁣
